Woke up early, had a good run. My 1st run since surgery. Not bad at all. Sweating out still seems enjoyable. 5km on easy.
Met up Azman to work on the video. Ooh, a drag coz it’s not my work. But, I managed to have a good spirit and produce a good work in 24hrs. Soundtrack, Afterlife by Avenged Sevenfold! Thanks Matthew for the track. Symphonic Rock is really getting to me these days. Reminds me of the days when I was mad about Dreamtheater. Not that I don’t like them anymore. I’m just not that mad!

Mighty Chris came by to join me for dinner. We had Carl’s Jr. Where on earth can 2 guys spend $30 on fastfood? The portions are MEGA for the asian gut. I’ve seen many who couldn’t finish their food. The amount of servettes we used up is really going to damage the forests. So, Carl’s Jr, I hereby protest your chain of waste! ALTHOUGH I did CHOOSE to eat at your chain on my own freewill.
Went on to watch 20th Century Boys. I had the impression it was the Film with the Highest Budget in Japan. It also advertised as “Beating Death Note at the Boxoffice“. I like the film. Great in the way events lead on to one another. The setting in the future opens alot of possibilities. Great cinematography for some scenes. I like the one when Pierre of the Fingersnappers gets stabbed. Hilarious! So, who’s “Friend“?
Gonna talk a little about work. Joseph Goh brought me an interesting situation he met with as a Platoon Commander. Well, I hope the officers that I have nurtured are reading this. I believe I have prepared you all to weigh pros and cons objectively, understanding what are the mental models and assumptions that we make in everyday life. Never be afraid to stand up for a decision that is best for the situation, even though nobody thinks so. Haven’t I done so in your cadet days? Values may be the very things that officers hold on to, expect more challenges the tighter you hold on to them.
I am glad Joseph Goh asked for my opinion. As a commander, we have to decide what messages we want to send to our men. Do you want to rule with fear or build mutual support, knowing the man beside you will be watching your back? What environment do you want to create? Where do you want your platoon to head? Weigh, Decide, Plan, Act. Make it happen.
We live to make things better, everyday. Be encouraged, my young gentlemen.
