Meeting People
Had the grand opening of my office today. We now rock as “We! Interactive“. The site is still being built by yours truly. I look forward to Andy joining my bandwagon in the coming days.
I’m really glad to see Guoxing, Meiyun & Dan for bringing an opening to reality. Larissa, Aisyah and Kenne who came on a surprise visit. Cindy, Rebecca and Ivan for taking the effort to attend. Yanwen is sweet with the flowers. Ivan for being a passionate photographer. Desmond for making ALP complete. Laikoon for being awesome. Ryan for popping by. Si Ying for being there. I thank Jevons, Chris, Renjie and Danny for their well wishes.
Step by step, we will get there.
Today is one of the crazy days, I walked out of my own party early to join my boys for soccer at the Cage. It was nice to see Sern Ming, Joseph, Zhao Ming, Jermyn, Bryan, Christopher, Nicky, Vic and John after such a long while. Today’s conclusion – Didier Deschamps shouldn’t be playing in the French Youth Team.
We had frog porridge at G7 where it was 8 frogs with 6 free. The meal was nice with dares to eat the dried chili slices in the stew. Of course, with me being a good sport, I obliged. It’s really spicy. The table topic developed from trading secrets to how we would have bend our principles and compromised. I guess I can’t run away from a senior role among my boys. It’s good to see how they have grown up, learning more about the responsibilities of life. It’s also astounding to know what whores they may have become. Kidding, but you know what you are inside.
Here I am blogging at an unearthly hour. Fuck, I’m gonna sleep.
Inévitablement Misérables
My post on William Wegman was popular. I’m glad people have gotten a chance to read it.
Today is a ridiculous day as much of Singapore scrambled into massive queues to change their EZlink cards. For all the goodness of this world, everyone had like a very, very long time to do that change. Pragmatic, isn’t it? It was amusing to see what prices people were willing to pay to have $15 saved. I changed my card when the campaign started. In reflection, I had procrastinated as much as a true blue Singaporean would in many other things. Staffing (if you knew what it meant). Staying connected with people that mattered, I had not done. Sheesh.
It’s cumbersome playing “catch up” (not ketchup). This, inevitably lasts our entire lifetime, as any given moment (yes, blink of an eye kinda moment!) in our lives can infinitely be better lived and better spent. “Inévitablement Misérables” This thought serves not as a never-ending, spiral descent, where you and I give up on the very things we do because there are no purposes that creates good fulfillment.
Alas.
In man is a mind and a soul. The power within, is the same source that gave the love and care of Mother Teresa (born Agnesë Gonxhe Bojaxhiu, beatified “Blessed Teresa of Calcutta“) and the coldhearted, dehumanized declarations of Adolf Hitler’s Mein Kampf. Of the Cardinal Sins (as are overseer demons, Peter Binsfeld, 1589) or Heavenly Virtues (Pope Gregory the Great, 540 – 604 AD), it all boils down to one neutral thing – Motivation.
We can be demotivated and that’s one extreme.
We can be motivated, maybe overzealous even.
Hmm, what makes the difference?
You do.
Interesting Reads:
Dante Alighieri (1265-1321) – Writer in the Middle Ages, main work “Commedia” or “Divine Comedy“. He gave the world the perception of the 9 Levels of Hell, Purgatory and vivid descriptions of Heaven and Hell.
Demons’ Lore – Seriously WTF? I know it’s a show. I am so not Winchester.
Alright, I’ve spoken my mind. Goodnight world.
Not Exactly Sunshine Days.
having done design work for the past few weeks, i see myself more and more as a interactive developer than a designer. I’ve been losing sleep, over work i guess. I didn’t expect starting up something to be a real clueless thing to me. I think there isn’t anything that is really of right or wrong. It’s just what I decided to do with the information that I had at that time.
I saw the Bloomberg event at Raffles Place. They took the day’s indices and sculpted the digits in ice. Well, what for? Seriously? I didn’t bother to find out so it would be great if you could enlighten me. Was making a special trip to lunch on that day.
what else? a lady got punched in the face and ended up with a bruised chin. I’m not being a sexist and I think this is one lame, stupid _____. fill in the blanks with whatever you want. What does she want by posting her “oh so painful” chin? To shore up support? to beg for the sympathy? Well, read on in the comments. Most are saying she deserves it. I would say, it’s quite obvious you were a _____. Even eyewitnesses say you deserve it. Blame it on this superficial world, if you were prettier, maybe you won’t have this bad experience. ok, that’s just a wondering thought. Check the article here.
Oh well, fuck it. Talking about pretty stuff. I attended “Miss Earth 2009” Coronation night. Jaydee invited me there to support his Ashley. wtf? There was almost a Ris Low again. She was just about to go “Boomsz”. I felt Ashley should have won based on her confidence. she bounces as she walks though. Her “Merlion” answer didn’t go down so well with the judges. I’m starting to feel Valerie won simply because she’s from NUS. We are a “meritocratic” society, a little on the extreme end.
Well, let’s talk about “The New Paper: New Face”. I introduce Min Yi Tan.
I’m gonna promote my young friend here. She’s one of the intelligent people around. (unless I’m surrounded by stupid people, which is not the case.) Seriously. She aspires to be a policewoman, air stewardess and a mom before she’s 26. Hmm. She still has 10 years to work on it. The competition should be round the corner which I don’t know when. (you smart internet folks do know how to search [google] for it, right?) I faintly remember it as being at Takashimaya or SUNTEC or Marina Square. Ok, I admit I made those up. I don’t know where it’s gonna be. If you can, read her blog. She’s more than meets the eye. Vote for her, I’m sure you think she deserves it.
Min Yi: Done my part, all the best.
William Wegman – Man with Weimaraners, Exhibit in Singapore
Interesting isn’t it? William Wegman’s a photography who fell in love with Weimaraners. I don’t know much about the dogs but they have a souless expression on their faces. I dig it because it’s an abstract insight of living things.
Would you think it is animal cruelty? or exploitation? I think not, I have a feeling they are very, very well taken care of.
His work is on exhibit in Singapore:

Paypal – ChangeHowWePay.com
Paypal has been a long standing online payment platform. I had a paypal account some 4-5 years ago. On November 3, 2009, Paypal will be opening up it’s platform to developers. What does that entail? Smarter payment systems? Increased ease of use? Shorter queues? or Counter staff being laid off?
I guess it will take 2 – 3 decades for our current infrastructure to progress into the ideas in their video. Just look at how we use oil – we’ve been in gasoline cars for a good century already.
probably the hardest thing.
i know i havent been blogging about anything real or any aspect of my life, for a very, very long time. to be on a hiatus is an understatement. to be lost is not exactly right.

yellowBird Camera Captures 360 Videos
If you thought Google Streetview was cool, you haven’t seen what yellowBird can do. This camera uses six cleverly divided lenses in order to capture video in every possible viewing direction. The data stream generated by the camera is impressive. Through a double glass-fiber connection, a stream of 1200 Mbit per second is captured and saved in an uncompressed format. Next to the camera, a surround sound microphone system enables to record audio at 96 khz as well.
The yellowbird camera can be utilized in a variety of ways. First of all, videos can be captured from a regular tripod. Additionally the camera can be setup within a steadicam suit and “float” above the head of the camera operator. Furthermore, multiple connections support the camera to be mounted on a car or under a helicopter.
